Belper RFC 1sts made it back-to-back wins in the Midlands Four East (North) by hammering visitors Bingham 59-0 on Saturday.

The result means Belper have bounced back very nicely indeed from three straight defeats they suffered early in the season.

They are now very handily placed in fifth position in the table and face an all-Derbyshire match on Saturday when they travel to take on Chesterfield Panthers.

In all, Belper ran in an impressive tally of nine tries on Saturday against Bingham, with Peverell (three), Chalkin (two) , Bacon , Holmes , Wilmott , and Matthews all getting on the scoresheet.

There were also seven conversions that were kicked by Stone to add to the sizable score.

In addition, Saturday saw the launch of the team’s new kit, which has again been kindly provided by JCBalls and sons.

A club spokesman said of the deal: “JCBalls have now sponsored Belper RUFC for around ten years.

“Their support has not only provided the club with kits but, away from the playing side, they help us out with sponsorship that enables people from the age of 6-60 to enjoy playing. “

The spokesman added: “They are a major factor in what Belper RUFC try to achieve on the pitch and we thank them again for their kind support.

“The new kit obviously did the trick as Belper recorded their biggest win of the season, in the match at home to Bingham RUFC.”
