Sense, the charity for deafblind people, is offering budding athletes from Amber Valley the chance to achieve their ambition of a lifetime and run the Virgin London Marathon, while raising money for a good cause.

The charity, which provides services across the Midlands, currently has an allocation of gold bond places on offer for the famous race.

This year’s iconic race is to be held on Sunday April 21, covering the distance of 26 miles and 385 yards past some of the famous sights to be found in the capital city.

Tara Hamdi from Sense, said: “The Virgin London Marathon is one of the greatest in the world but getting a place is hard, so Sense wants to offer local runners the chance to run for a cause that is close to home.

“Whether you are a marathon veteran or a first timer we offer unlimited support all the way through this unique experience.”

If you would like to run for Sense and can raise a minimum sponsorship, you can register online at www.sense.org.uk/londonmarathon, call the Marathon Hotline on 0845 127 0063 or email marathon@sense.org.uk but hurry as the closing date is February 1.
