The Peak District Triathlon at Chatsworth, which took place for the first time in 2014, will be back for 2015 with some exciting changes.

The second staging of the gruelling event takes place at Chatsworth on Sunday June 28, 2015.

Based at one of the UK’s best-known country estates, registration for the event is now open.

Featuring a new cycle route and an amended run route, the Peak District Triathlon at Chatsworth is a world-class triathlon set in the middle of the Peak District with options of a sprint and standard distance race.

This family-friendly event is the perfect opportunity to combine taking part in an iconic race with having a family day out at the Estate and exploring the Peak District.

The sprint distance race incorporates a 750m swim in the river Derwent which starts from the beautiful 18th century bridge and goes out and back in front of Chatsworth House, followed by a 20km bike ride in stunning Peak District countryside.

The race finishes with a picturesque 5km run in the expansive parkland, featuring some highlights of the Chatsworth Estate including the famous Hunting Tower and amazing views of the Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown landscape.

The standard distance race consists of a 1000m swim followed by a 39km cycle leg and a 10km run.

New for 2015 the cycle route is a single loop taking in some of the most beautiful scenes in the Peak District, and the run route has been amended to include an extra loop beyond the Hunting Tower for the standard distance athletes to feature more of Chatsworth’s landmarks.

Race Director Simon Hill said: “We are excited to confirm the date and opening of registration for the Peak District Triathlon at Chatsworth 2015, which is one of the most iconic events in the triathlon calendar taking place in one of the most beautiful parts of the country.

“The event includes a standard and a sprint distance race which makes it accessible for triathletes of all levels.

“A triathlon at Chatsworth is the perfect opportunity to combine taking part in an iconic race with having a family day out and exploring the Peak District.”

Entry costs are £65/£62 (standard/sprint) for individual entries or £77/£72 (standard/sprint) for team relay entries, with the first wave starting at 7am.

The Peak District Triathlon at Chatsworth also features a women’s only wave.
