Marlin romp to success at Ripley

Belper Marlin swimmers attended the recent Ripley Rascals B Grade Open Meet and swam strongly to achieve personal best times and medals for all their hard work.

All swimmers performed exceptionally well at this event which was held at Alfreton Leisure Centre and there were first places and speeding tickets for Casper Raynard, Ryan Horobin, Joshua Horobin and Katy Dymond.

There were other other top six finishes for Alex Raynard, Callum Sheldon, Eleanor Altoft, Rachel Ainley, Lauren Neild, Amy Neild, Sam Bassett, Sarah Dymond, Luke Meakin, Hannah Whittaker and Joe Chadwick who was competing in his first gala

Other swimmers who swam well were Edward Warbrick, Ellie Baker, Kiran Sanghira and Alice Warbrick.

Meanwhile, Marlin had a good day’s results from the recent City of Derby Level Three Open Meet held at Queen’s Leisure Centre.

Sam Frost deserved a special mention after a cracking day’s swimming earning himself speeding tickets for his Freestyle and Individual Medley events and placings for his Breast and Backstroke.

Callum Sheldon, Amy Neild, Connor Osin swam well gaining 1st places for their events and others to mention who achieved good placings on the day were Daniel Breeze, Emily Richardson, Lauren Neild, Hannah Whittaker, Eleanor Altoft, Lucy Frost, Eleanor Hewitt and Amy Hewitt.

Marlin are busy at the Chesterfield Open Meet, the Four Towns Gala and their Club Presentation Evening but as the swim calendar eases off for the remainder of the summer, the swimmers will be looking forward to a well earned rest.

They have achieved a lot over this last year and go from strength to strength.
