Belper Marlin Swimming Club members have started 2013 in the same postitive way as they ended 2012 - by turning in a series of fine performances and recording a selection of personal bests.

The latest example of this impressive set of results saw

Connor Osin, Amy Nield and William Brookes represent Belper Marlin Swimming Club at the City of Derby long course competition, which has been held at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.

All three performed exceptionally well against tough competition from across the country, with Amy achieving a club record in the 50m backstroke.

William, competing in his first Level One meet, achieved a whole handful of personal bests in his seven events and achieved club records in the 50m backstroke, 200m freestyle and 400m freestyle.

He also came fifth overall in the ten-year-old category.

The club is delighted with their achievements and has issued congratulations to all three for a fantastic weekend.

Against high level competition, they performed exceptionally well.

There is a busy February and March ahead for Belper Marlin swimmers, including the County Championships, held over two weekends in Matlock.
