DJS-Events are inviting cyclists from the Dales to get pedalling and enter the Peak District Challenge Bike Ride.
In its debut year, the ride has an eight, 16 or 30-mile circular route, starting at Carsington Water, on Saturday, October 6.
The 30-mile on-road challenge route begins at 9.30am from Carsington Water Visitor Centre, where riders will be climbing and descending some of the steepest hills in the Peak District National Park.
The eight and 16-mile (2 laps) traffic-free routes around Carsington Water are suitable for families and novice cyclists and starts at 10.30am.
Dave Storer, from DJS-Events, said: “This is the debut year for the ride and we are all really excited about the event.
“Riders can take part for fun, fitness or support one of our fabulous partner charities by raising sponsorship for; the British Heart Foundation, Helen’s Trust, Parkinson’s UK, Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, Cancer Research UK or Friends of the Peak District.
“Riders will receive discounted all day parking at Carsington Water, bring your own bike or hire a bike from Carsington Sports and Leisure and there are a wide range of facilities including shops, café, restaurant and children’s playground.”
