Belper BC member Mick Allen is celebrating after scooping a gold medal at the LVRC National Track Championships recently.
His gong came in the 10k scratch race during which he put down a powerful marker early on.
He maintained his lead throughout as he waltzed towards victory.
Earlier that weekend he had been disappointed to only come out with silver in two other races.
Allen finished second in both the 2k pursuit and 500m time trial during the event, which was staged at Newport Velodrome in Wales.
There was also podium success for another couple of Belper riders during the weekend excursion in Wales.
Bill Cotton picked up Silver in the 10k points race thanks to some astute riding which enabled him to pick up points.
Elsewhere, veteran rider Derrick Woodings enjoyed a medal-laden weekend although he was restricted to three bronze-placed finishes.
Derrick picked up his trio of medals in the 40k points race, the 2k pursuit and the 7.5k scratch race.
Simon Parkin also represented the club at the championships, on what was a busy weekend.
