Belper Hockey Club Juniors’ annual Summer Fasttrack programme is back - with organisers aiming to make it bigger than ever this year.

Thanks to a Sports Action Grant from Derbyshire County Council ,the club was able to fund an additional coach and include more players thanpreviously.

With the help of this funding, the club was able to secure the services of Duncan Woods, former Great Britain international and highly experienced coach.

He is currently the coach for Belper Men’s 1st XI and organisers of the programme are delighted to have him as their summer coach.

The summer coaching programme targets the most able players and aims to help them progress through the county and club pathways.

Over 30 juniors have signed up to the summer coaching making it the most successful yet.

n And this year it’s not just the juniors who are training through the summer.

Belper Ladies Hockey Club are looking for new members and invite you to join them for the Back2hockey sessions on June 25, July 2, July 9, July 16 at 6.30pm-7.30pm. The first session at the club is free and thereafter it is £2 per session.

If you haven’t played since school or university or have never picked a stick up before please come and join in the sessions.

It promises to be great fun and a good way to keep fit. Email juliecarter@dtsmail.co.uk with any questions. There will be sticks available. Please wear trainers - no boots with studs or blades please.
