Belper Bicycle Club member David Wallwin has been busy time trialing and he produced the goods in two events within the space of four days.
Last weekend he travelled north and competed on a time trialing course in Doncaster.
The event, a 25-mile Time Trial, was organised by the Sheffrec Cycling Club and was on the O25/11 course.
Despite a head-wind on the return route, David produced a great ride of 55:48 to finish in fourth place.
The winner was Nigel Haigh from Sportscover Altura RC in 54.04.
David was also in action four days before this in the Matlock CC evening ten-mile Time Trial on the A6 up past Matlock (A10/16 course).
The course had to be shortened to 8.2-miles last week due to road works taking place on the A6.
David won the event with a time of just 17:51, giving him an average speed of 27.56 miles per hour!
There is no road racing this weekend as seemingly everyone has been focused on the Olympic Road Race event taking place around London.
Instead, the regular road crew have been out getting some serious miles in their legs ahead of the next road race on August 12 in Newark, Notts.
The monthly Belper Bicycle Club meeting night is next Monday, August 6 and is being held at The Strutt Club, Campbell Street in Belper. Start time is 7pm.
