Belper Hockey Club U18 Boys are through to the last 16 of the Under 18s England Hockey Cup after beating hosts Alderley Edge 5-1 last weekend.
After a nervous first few minutes, the Belper boys settled to play some really attractive hockey, creating several chances, only saved by the home keeper.
Alex Robey eventually won a penalty corner, which was converted by Alex Cox to give Belper their first goal.
Belper increased the pressure, scoring twice more (Dom Bennett, Alex Robey) within the next five minutes.
The remainder of the first half was keenly contested by both teams but with neither side able to break through.
After half-time, Alderley Edge started strongly but the Belper defence held out, with Harri Johnson-Evans in goal making a couple of crucial saves.
A penalty corner to Belper, converted by Alex Robey, again broke the deadlock, but Alderley Edge kept the pressure on and their determination was eventually rewarded with a goal.
Belper regrouped and managed to sneak a fifth goal with a lovely deflection into the top of the net by George Selby just before the final whistle.
They have been drawn at home to Rugby & East Warwickshire in the last 16, with the game to be played on January 26.
