Derrick Woodings braved the horrendous weather at the weekend when he rode the LVRC Road Championships on Sunday.

Over 50 miles at Audlem in Staffordshire. Along with the torrential weather it was also freezing cold as well.

Derrick clung on despite this though and finished 8th place out of 40 riders, which was good going given the circumstances.

The race was won by Richard Booth of Teeside from Rob Stones from Hull.

Mike Allan rode the Doncaster Wheelers race at Harworth in Notts.

This was eight laps of a six mile circuit, where he escaped as usual in the company of John Elliot (Alford) and Pete Smith (Condor RC).

On the final lap eight he dropped these two to win by one minute from John and Pete. This race was run off in dry conditions the rain holding off until they had returned to the changing rooms.
