Nottingham will host world class tennis next week when the AEGON GB Pro-Series continues at the Nottingham Tennis Centre.
There is sure to be plenty of British interest with home grown players dominating the men’s entry list for the AEGON GB Pro-Series Nottingham event.
This year’s British entry is headed up by Josh Goodall, who won the recent title at Wrexham, and has won a number of AEGON GB Pro-Series singles and doubles titles during the year.
Goodall ranked second on the acceptance list is joined by fellow Brits David Rice, Alex Ward, Sean Thornley, Richard Bloomfield and Liam Broady all inside the top eight.
France’s Mathieu Rodrigues adds overseas interest to the tournament as the top ranked player and currently ranked as 340 in the world.
Tournament Director Richard Joyner said: “It’s great to be returning to Nottingham Tennis Centre for a professional tennis event. The venue has a great tournament set up, together with a tradition of welcoming top international tennis.
“The Men’s $10k event provides a great opportunity to see potential stars of the future close at hand, and free of charge. The majority of the men playing at the US Open would have all started their professional careers playing at this level.”
“Last year’s final was an all British affair with current British number seven Josh Milton beating Dan Evans (who trains at the Tennis Centre).”
Qualifying is scheduled for Sunday 11 September and Monday 12 September. The Main Draw is scheduled to start on Tuesday, September 13, with the singles final on Saturday, September 17.
Play is scheduled to start each day at 10.00am with free entry for spectators.
