SPECULATION is growing as to who will be taking the helm both on and off the field at Belper Town Football Club next season.
While the club are keeping their cards close to their chest, rumours abound that the name of the new football club chairman will be announced soon.
There are reportedly at least 15 applications already received for the team manager’s position before the post has even been officially advertised.
One thing is for certain, Belper Town will undergo step changes both on and off the pitch in the next few weeks, which suggests that exciting times are ahead for Belper Town.
In the meantime supporters are asked to give Andy Carney their full support as he and his players face the final few games of the season and help finish the manager’s three year reign on a high.
Carney’s has stated that his reasons for leaving the club at the end of the season are based purely on his personal circumstances.
“It would have been the same decision even if we had achieved promotion this year,” he explained, “I can’t devote the time to manage a football club at this level and still cope with the demands on my time to be with my family and run my own business.”
He will take charge for the last time when Leek Town visit Christchurch Meadow for the final fixture against Leek Town on Easter Monday.
The Nailers play their penultimate home league fixture against Lincoln United on Saturday, and then travel to league leaders Barwell on Tuesday evening (April 12).
