THERE’S a double treat for dance fans at Nottingham Playhouse this week thanks to two separate productions.
Shaun Parker And Company will be performing Happy As Larry on Friday and Saturday, September 23 and 24, while Darshan Singh Bhuller’s Caravaggio: Exile And Death, is to be danced on Wednesday, September 28.
Happy As Larry explores what it is that makes us happy. Innovative Australian choreographer Shaun Parker explores this question in a funny, playful and poignant new dance show. The powerful performances combine an intoxicating mix of ballet, breakdance, roller skating and highly physical contemporary dance.
Groundbreaking British choreographer Darshan Singh Bhuller’s piece of dance theatre is inspired by the life and work of the famous 17th-century Italian painter.
It takes the audience on a journey of the artist’s search for redemption after a life obsessed with violence, solitude and love.
Ticket details for these two shows are available from the box office on 0115 9895555.
