Derby city’s Well Dressing will be in arts centre Quad from June 18-21.
Quad will be creating and displaying the annual Derby City Well Dressing in June. Well Dressing is a traditional custom unique to Derbyshire.
Pictures are made from natural products like flower petals and set into clay-filled frames to celebrate the gift of water. The creation of Derby’s well dressing, made in conjunction with Derby City Council Tourism Team, will take place in Quad’s participation space over three days, from June 15 until June 17, and will be open daily from 10am until 4pm. Visitors can see the process of the Well Dressing being made and have a go themselves. The completed well dressings will be displayed around Quad from June 18 to 21.
