Young bands aired their sound to fellow performers and fans when the Turn It Up tour hit Chesterfield.

Barnie Rubblz, Section 47, The Standby Setting, duo Juneau and solist Ella Juster were among those who performed at DCAS studios.

Sarah Laman, director at Fleet Arts which arranged the tour, said: “The turnout at Chesterfield was great - 60 paying audience, plus the performers (over 20 people).

For more than ten years, the Turn It Up music development project has worked with young people to support them in gaining experience of music including the genres of rock and folk.

The project is focused on building up skills, creating original music and performances.

Several bands have benefited from the project with performances at high-profile events such as the nationally-recognised YNot Festival, near Buxton; Bandstand Marathon in Matlock and Whatstandwell Festival.
