Fresh take on the Magic Flute

Co-oPERA Co will present Mozart’s mystical fairytale opera The Magic Flute at Buxton Opera House on Sunday, January 15, from 7.30pm.

In a mythical land somewhere between the sun and the moon, young Prince Tamino is rescued from a savage monster by three mysterious ladies.

But can they, or their ruler, the Queen of the Night, be trusted? Is Sarastro really as evil as they suggest? And what about the beautiful princess Pamina?

Tamino sets out on a journey to rescue his princess and find enlightenment, armed only with some enchanted bells, a man dressed as a bird and... a Magic Flute!

Sung in English, this is a fresh, youthful take on a beloved, operatic gem. Tickets cost £17-£25, available from the box office on 0845 1272190.
