Nottingham Rocks is an event that is to be staged at the Theatre Royal in the city on Saturday, September 6, from 7.30pm.
Showcasing the city’s best up-and-coming music artists, backed by a 14-piece orchestra, the line-up for Nottingham Rocks is an impressive one and offers plenty to entice music fans from across the area.
Singer-songwriter Joel Baker headlines the event. His mesmerising vocals and moving lyrics have attracted serious national attention already, with fans including Radio 1’s Huw Stephens and Fearne Cotton.
Shelter Point’s haunting sound, mixing beautiful melodies against heavy bass, has earned the duo rave reviews, national airplay, and comparisons to artists such as James Blake and Radiohead.
Noah is a local duo comprising singer Rebeka Whittle, and guitarist/singer Joe Baxter. They are regulars on the city’s music circuit and describe their sound as ‘rootsy, tribal, folky pop’.
Champions of the Future Sound of Nottingham 2012, After Dark Movement is one of the city’s most widely respected bands. Their unique sound has drawn admirers from the urban scene and live gigging circuit alike.
