Bonnie Raitt brings her Slipstream tour to Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall on Tuesday, June 25.
The tour is named after her most recent album, which was released last year to widespread accclaim.
After an emotional period, with such triumphs as her 2005 release and tour for Souls Alike, and 2009 national tour with fellow blues legend Taj Mahal alongside the tragedy of losing her parents, her brother, and her best friend, Raitt decided to step back.
“I took a hiatus from touring and recording to get back in touch with the other part of my life,” Raitt says of her decision to recharge her spirit and regain her personal balance before returning to action.
There’s no doubt that Raitt is re-energized.
Slipstream marked her biggest chart debut in the United States in two decades and is one of the top five-selling independent albums of the year.
Bonnie Raitt is an institution in American music with tens of millions of albums sold worldwide.
