Hairpin Records are presenting a Christmas concert by local folk aces David Gibb and Elly Lucas.
It takes place at Fleet Arts, Belper, on Saturday, December 21. Doors open at 7.30pm.
David Gibb and Elly Lucas will celebrate the end of a fantastic year with a special Christmas concert.
For the first time ever they’ll be playing their new album Up Through The Woods in full, joined by special guests Tom Sweeney (bass) and Jim Molyneux (drums).
On top of that, there will be the usual mix of mince pies, crackers and Chrismas decorations.
The duo’s career was kickstarted with a BBC Young Folk Award nomination in 2011.
In the three short years that have followed, they have released two albums to critical acclaim, have been endorsed by British shoe manufacturer Gola ®, received extensive airplay on BBC Radio (Mark Radcliffe, Bob Harris), and have been described by The Independent as “the future of folk.”
Support on the night comes from Abbie Rechert.
Julian Butt of Hairpin Records said: “It’s been a great year for Hairpin with our first ever festival taking place in April, and new releases from Marc Block and David Gibb and Elly Lucas.
“We’re thrilled to be finishing a successful year with such a fantastic event!”
Tickets for the concert are £8 in advance or £10 on the door.
