An album recorded by Derbyshire women’s chorus DaleDiva as their prize for winning a national TV talent show is out now on CD.

The Cromford-based DaleDiva won the most public votes to win its heat and then the final of Channel Five show Don’t Stop Believing on its quest to find Britain’s best all-singing, all-dancing show choir last August.

The prize was for their triumph was a recording contract and the girls spent a week in London in October recording a ten-track album titled DaleDiva.

The album was engineered by the producers behind the Sugarbabes and Plan B and recorded at The Church Studio in Crouch End, previously owned by the Eurythmics and now by musician David Gray, and RAK Studios in St John’s Wood, used by artists including Michael Jackson and Mumford and Sons.

The album, titled DaleDiva, was initially released in November as a download on iTunes and Amazon – and is out now on CD for fans to buy their own copy.

DaleDiva founder and musical director Ally Law, 41, said: “It was a fantastic experience to record the album in professional studios with world-class producers and we’re thrilled with the result.

“We chose the tracks so there’s something for everyone and have put our own unique DaleDiva stamp on them.

“It’s fun and funky and I’m sure will get people dancing around their living rooms!”

DaleDiva is a four-part harmony chorus made up of 66 members aged 23 to 68 from across Derbyshire including Matlock, Wirksworth, Belper, Derby, Cromford and Chesterfield.

It meets for rehearsals every week in Cromford and regularly performs in Derbyshire as well as around the country.

The track listing for this eagerly-awaited album is as follows: Single Ladies (as featured on their TV appearances on Don’t Stop Believing), Sweet Dreams, Love The One You’re With, Sing, Sisters Are Doin’ It For Themselves, Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For, Natural Woman, Merry Christmas Everyone, Ain’t Nobody, Let The River Run.
