The acclaimed Fishpond Choir will be performing a Summer Concert at their “home ground”, The Fishpond, based on South Parade, Matlock Bath, on Monday, June 23 at 8pm.
The Fishpond Choir is returning to the venue for the second time in a year, and will perform a selection of songs, including some new material.
The choir has a wide repertoire of songs in many different languages, and is known for its punchy performances, African drummers and the enjoyment it brings to its audiences. In the past, they have even had audience members dancing in the aisles.
The Fishpond Choir will be directed by husband and wife team Dana and Anne de Waal. Dana is an accomplished tenor soloist in his own right, and Anne is the choir’s brilliant accompanist.
Earlier this year, The Fishpond Choir took part in This Man, an Easter Oratorio, written by Anne de Waal, with her husband singing several solos as well as directing the choir.
It was performed to a packed Derby Cathedral and received a standing ovation.
Tickets to see the choir in action are £5.
They are available from The Fishpond on 01629 581529 or on the door.
