The Fontana Instincts are the guest performers at The Flowerpot in Derby for a gig there on Saturday, August 17.

The band has been having a busy time of it lately, with two performances at the Y Not Festival near Matlock earlier this month plus the release of their eagerly-awaited debut album. The 12-track offering is called Carousel.

Also on the rock bill at the King Street venue will be special guests Tilted Smile and West Of The Sun.

Then, on Wednesday, August 21, the latest in the free weekly Acoustic Wednesdays sessions will see a performance by Sunjay Brayne, performing some acoustic roots.

Born in Derbyshire and raised in the West Midlands, Sunjay Brayne is a highly-acclaimed performer.

He was the Winner of the Wath Festival Young Performers Award 2012 and the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award Nominee 2012.. Doors open for both gigs at 8pm and admission is free.

Later in the month, you can enjoy Woolley and Archer in an Acoustic Wednesdays session on August 28 and then see Foreigner’s Journey on August 31, with their accurately named tribute act to both Foreigner and Journey.
