THE Halle make their latest eagerly-awaited return to the area on Thursday, November 24, from 7.30pm, with a concert at Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall.
Conducted by Cristian Mandeal, the concert begins with Dukas’s popular and entrancing work The Sorceror’s Apprentice, followed by Joseph Jongen’s Symphonie Concertante for Organ and Orchestra, a virtuosic and vivacious work.
Also to be performed are Faure’s haunting Pavane, and Respighi’s brilliantly colourful orchestral spectacular The Pines Of Rome, ending in a blaze of sound as the Roman legions make their triumphant entry into the ancient city.
Jonathan Scott will be the organ soloist and tickets for the concert are £10-£32.
