UNCONVENTIONAL Belper-based trio BB Blackdog’s first official release is out now.
No One features 12 tracks, plus a selection of bonus live songs and features a band who observers who have found hard to place in a particular musical box.
Psychedelic, funk, blues, stoner and rock with a steampunk style are all terms that have been bandied about for this three-piece outfit, made up, unusually, of two bassists from Derbyshire plus a drummer from Ost-Holstein in Germany.
One of Europe’s leading steampunk bands, they have been making waves in the UK, across the continent and also in the States, with a second visit to the US planned for March of next year.
In the last four years, they have completed 300 gigs, including showcases in Berlin, Hamburg, London, Birmingham, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Francisco.
Another album is already recorded, ready for release in March, this time in conjunction with a steampunk graphic novel/comic, featuring BB Blackdog and written by Emmy Award winner Sean Varney with the band and illustrated by UK comics legend Russ Leach.
