THE Red Lion in Wirksworth is the setting on Saturday, May 26, for a record label launch event for Medius Music.
The music gets under way at 7.30pm and performing at the bash will be the three local acts on the label, 3:Second:Fuse, Andy Carr and The Standby Setting.
The label was set up by local musician Andy Richardson just over six months ago with the main aim of helping Derbyshire talent to record and release material as easily as possible.
Matlock singer/songwriter Andy Carr is described as a thoughtful performer with a knack for crafting melodic contemporary soft rock tunes, Derby-based The Standby Setting are a four piece alternative-rock band who make it look easy to write tremendously catchy songs while 3:Second:Fuse, whose members hail from the Wirksworth and Matlock Bath areas, play incendiary metal music from the heart, with its influence on its sleeves.
Andy Richardson from the label explained: “Medius Music is all about making it easier for Dales bands and acts to record and release their music.
“Andy Carr, The Standby Setting and 3:Second:Fuse have all had singles released in the last couple of weeks and they are available via the likes of Spotify and Itunes online but this is a chance for people to come along and hear them live.
“We think it’s going to be a really good showcase and a great chance to officially launch the label and show people what we’re all about.”
The gig will be recorded and then released as a CD later in the summer, entitled Medius Local and Live.
