The 11th annual Whatstandwell family friendly Festival will be held this year on Midsummer’s day, Saturday, June 21.
There will be a number of bands playing live, including Ordinary Heroes, Mario’s Nicotine Parlour, Parasight, Jamie Joseph Band and Defkon1.
The venue is to be Hankin Farm, based on New Road in Whatstandwell. The entrance fee is £5 and souvenir glasses are available for £1.50.
Gates open at 2pm and the fun starts at 5pm, when the music programme commences.
The licensed bar will be serving a range of locally brewed traditional ales as well as farmhouse cider, lager, good wines, snacks and soft drinks. Outside, there will be children’s games and activities in the large field plus a barbecue.
For those who don’t want to drive home, camping is available on the farm campsite for a small additional fee, payable direct to the farm. Toilets and showers are available on site, and caravans, camper vans and tents can all be accommodated; the view of Whatstandwell and the villages along the Derwent Valley is stunning.
The festival goes on until 11pm, with a continuous flow of music.
