Crich Tramway Village is winding back the clock to the early 1900s during its Edwardian Weekend on Saturday and Sunday (July 12-13).

This was a time when the suffragette movement was in full swing and horse drawn trams were a regular spectacle.

The Edwardian Weekend offers visitors the opportunity to ride on a horse drawn tram (Sunday only). There is also a Learning Session - The Edwardian Tramway - for all the family which takes an interactive look at life at an Edwardian Tramway brought to life by costumes and using archive photographs.

The Time Tarts will put on various period displays such as Suffragists meeting, a dramatised presentation on the sinking of the Titanic, The Siege of Sidney street. Also, there is a demonstration and talk about uniform and equipment for soldiers in the run up to WW1.

There will be timed talks where the Time Tarts will talk about the Ladies fashion of the time and Derby at War and Derbyshire Yeomanry go to War by Dr Mike Galer.

On Saturday there will be a display of Edwardian phonographs and gramophones playing period songs. Talks will be given during the day on the history of recorded sound. Another highlight of the event will be a major Titanic Exhibition containing artefacts like those from RMS Titanic, Olympic and other models and important relics.
