A new take on a classic story

Derby-based theatre company Oddsocks will be performing their take on Treasure Island, at Derby’s Guildhall Theatre, from January 27-31.

Following on from the success of last year’s The Adventures of Robin Hood, nationally acclaimed company Oddsocks Productions are to bring Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic tale to life onstage.

Renowned for their hilarious, uplifting, and physically exciting adaptations of classic texts, this production will be no exception.

Treasure Island is an adventure story about bravery, deception, and challenges, all of which lends itself to Oddsocks’ style of fast moving, interactive and humorous performance.

Appearing are popular Oddsocks actors who will be familiar to regular audiences: Andy McGillan, a memorable Friar Tuck, is looking forward to touring with the troupe once again, along with Joseph Maudsley, who played Little John (on stilts), and Dominic Gee-Burch who made such an impact in his first professional stage role in the company’s summer tour.

Heading up the cast will Oddsocks actor/director Andy Barrow, who played both Dromio twins in the open-air summer tour of The Comedy of Errors.
