Derby Shakespeare Theatre Company will be performing A Midsummer Night’s Dream in an open air setting at Broomfield Hall, Morley, from August 1-3.
The company is pleased to be able to present the Shakespeare comedy to local audiences before performing it at the world famous open air Minack Theatre in Cornwall.
During the company’s 106-year history, it has presented the play nine times.
The company feels the grounds at Broomfield Hall are perfect for the presentation of a play.
Tim Heywood’s production is a glorious mix of zany humour, squabbling lovers, quirky fairies and dysfunctional mortals.
The atmosphere is highlighted by the beautiful costumes and Tim’s eye for detail. It is set in the 50s and toe-tapping music plays a major role.
The performances on the Friday and Saturday evenings are at 7.30pm while the Saturday and Sunday matinees start at 2.30pm.
So pack a picnic, pick up your chair and share a midsummer slice of enchantment.
Tickets are available from the box office on 01332 255800.
