Ed tells of his amazing journey

BRITISH explorer Ed Stafford brings his show Walking The Amazon to Derby’s Assembly Rooms on Wednesday, June 15, from 7.30pm.

When the British explorer and ex-Army captain set out to walk the entire length of the Amazon River, he was told he would probably die.

He was advised the journey was too far, and he was warned about the unrelenting dangers that lurked in the dense rainforest, but following in the tradition of great British explorers he went anyway. In his way stood lethal and poisonous snakes, deadly jaguars, crippling illness, constant starvation and an exhausting trek along one of the world’s longest rivers.

After two and a half years and over 4,000 miles, Ed had reached the Atlantic Ocean to become the first known person to walk the entire length of the mighty Amazon River, and this is his story.

Tickets are £15. To book tickets call the box office on 01332 255800.
