Family baggage in Egusi Soup

Janice Okoh’s play Egusi Soup is to be performed at Nottingham Playhouse on April 4-5.

This is a fast and funny family drams about inter-generational and cross cultural relationships from an award-winning writer Janice Okoh.

As the Anyias, a British-Nigerian family, pack their suitcases and prepare to head home to Lagos for a memorial service in honour of the late Mr Anyia, they soon realise that they will need to get rid of some excess baggage first.

Will the family be able to settle their differences over a nice bowl of egusi soup?

The play is performed by Menagerie, one of the UK’s leading new writing theatre companies, which supports talented writers in order to develop and produce innovative new theatre.

On both nights, there will be an after-show Afro-Beat DJ event in the adjoining CAST with Hemulen Soundz.
