There’s still time for you to catch Buxton Opera House’s pantomime spectacular Cinderella, which runs there until Wednesday, January 1.

The show stars Sarah Thomas, best known for her long-running role in Last of the Summer Wine, who is playing Cinderella’s magical Fairy Godmother. Sarah appeared as Glenda Wilkinson in the sitcom from 1986 to 2010, when the final series was broadcast. She also played Enid Simmons in the iconic 1980s children’s series Worzel Gummidge.

The children’s favourite this year is Jonny Freeman, who has a leading role in the popular CBBC Sci-fi adventure series, M.I. High.

He appears as school caretaker Frank London, who leads a double life as a spymaster in charge of a team of young secret agents.

Jonny (pictured) has been a sure-fire hit with Buxton audiences in the role of Cinderella’s best friend Buttons. When he is not appearing in the high profile CBBC series, he works as a stand-up comedian.

Cinderella’s writer/director Philip Dart promises a memorable show: “Cinderella is one of the nation’s best-loved stories and the production builds on all the magical elements that children love whilst ensuring there is plenty of humour to keep the mums and dads entertained.”
