The Wirksworth Carnival Showcase is back for another day of live music.
It will be taking place at the Hope and Anchor in the town from 3pm until late on Saturday, May 23.
This year’s event will be held across two stages, outside and inside.
The Garden Stage will run from 3pm until 7.30pm, with the likes of Lucy Milford, Vinyl and Ellie Jessop all supporting outdoor headliners Frank, who recently stole the show at the recent Alias Kid gig in Matlock.
Another artist on the outdoor stage is Matt Henshaw, recently reviewed by NME Magazine as “The missing link!” and by The Guardian as “Sublime.. a soul voice that’s up there with the best of them.”, certainly not one to miss.
The Indoor Stage, or Porthole as it is known to locals, gets going from 8pm and will feature cover artists and bands including Benjy CJ, Barnie Rubblz, Croninger (pictured) and local favourites Early Days.
Having now been formed for over a year, Early Days are fast becoming one of the most followed bands in the area.
Expect all your favourite modern classics and don’t forget those dancing shoes.
Entry to the event is free and can be enjoyed by all the family.
Kev Dowson, landlord at the Hope and Anchor, said: “I’m really looking forward to this year’s showcase. The event each year has grown and grown, a great day and night for all to enjoy. Thanks goes to everyone involved, The Loft in Matlock for helping organise the event and especially to the artists and bands for taking part.”
There is free entry event to the event for all the family.
n There will be a Bank Holiday Sunday line-up of top DJs at The Loft in Matlock on May 24, featuring Carlo Gambino.
It runs from 9pm until late and also on the bill at the event will be the likes of Walford, Jon Green, Jordan Gregory, Grant Boden and Eclectic Boogaloo.
Wristbands are £3, available on the door.
