Quirky and inventive Derby-based theatre company Maison Foo are bringing their second hit show to their home city as the final date in a national tour.
The tour has seen them travel all over the country, performing Pendulums Bargain Emporium, which was a huge success at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe with audiences and critic alike.
It comes to Déda on Saturday, November 1 at 7.30pm, at the Chapel Street-based venue in the city centre.
Pendulums Bargain Emporium takes its inspiration from the fairy tale The Elves and the Shoemaker, to create a modern day greedy fairytale for grown ups (14-plus).
Set in a shop where happiness and success are a simple transaction away, the show couldn’t be more topical as we question our consumerism and yet ‘reality’ shopping shows are all over TV (not to mention popular shop-based dramas like Mr Selfridge).
It raised the question: are we being served?
Pendulums Bargain Emporium repeated the success of Maison Foo’s all-conquering Memoirs of a Biscuit Tin at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe.
It was successful in drawing praise from places as varied as The Daily Mirror and The Guardian.
That show was followed by two sell out UK tours and Pendulums looks set to repeat the success.
The final tour performance gets under way at 7.30pm and tickets are £10 and £8.

Deda Youth performance groups Jump, Fuse Crew, Javvani, InCompany and Bounceback, will be performing brand new works created in their weekly sessions.
The academy is a centre of excellence and engagement for those aged 0-19.
