Roll up, roll up, for the most ‘magnifical’, ‘tremendible’ and ‘fantasticulous’ experience in town!

The Marvellous Imaginary Menagerie aims to delight big children and little adults alike withsongs, tall tales and some very peculiar creatures.

Ever wanted to count a Decapus’s legs? Or wondered what a Whistling Pank eats? Would you like to catch a glimpse of the fabled ‘Massive Paw’, or lick a Tresillian Toad? Or perhaps see a cow that looks like Brian May? Then you’ve come to the right place!

Dr Longitude and his team of ‘experts’ will be guiding you through a puppet-packed, ludicrously lyrical and magically musical tour of the Imaginary Menagerie’s finest exhibits.

The show will be presented at Chesterfield’s Winding Wheel next month. by Les Enfants Terribles. The award-winning company’s previous creations include The Terrible Infants, Alice’s Adventures Underground and The Trench.

Director James Seager said: “I think the show succeeds in not patronising kids, which is important. It doesn’t talk down to them, and I believe that this is one of the reasons why it has a huge fun appeal and a real joy about it which adult audiences respond to.”

The Marvellous Imaginary Menagerie is written by Anthony Spargo and Oliver Lansley, a published playwright who also works extensively in television co-creating/writing ITV2’s ‘FM’ and numerous other projects including ‘WHITES’ which was shown on BBC2 and starred Alan Davies.

Oliver is the artistic director of Les Enfants Terribles which he founded in 2001. The company has continued to grow and receive consistent critical acclaim, won top industry awards, and established a large and loyal following for its unique work.

The company has performed to thousands of people around the world including Poland, Czech Republic, Dubai, Singapore and Australia.

The Marvellous Imaginary Menagerie will be staged at the Pomegranate Theatre on April 10 at 3pm. Tickets £14 (adult), £12 (child). Contact 01246 345222 or www.chesterfieldtheatres.co.uk
