Building firm to resume work at key Derbyshire developments

A major Derbyshire building firm has revelealed it will resume work at its key sites in the county after the bank holiday weekend.

Harron Homes’ developments, including Foresters View at Crich, were closed throughout April in order to protect the health and safety of staff and customers amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

The company says it has been working hard over the last few weeks to update its operations and will be implementing a number of safety measures when work restarts on Monday, May 11, including enhanced PPE requirements, good hygiene practices and appropriate distancing.

Lee Howard, health and safety manager at Harron Homes, said: “We’ve conducted a thorough risk assessment at each site, and are strictly following industry guidance as well as construction leadership council and government guidance to focus on the welfare of our employees.

“Our teams have all undergone inductions to make sure they understand and can best action the measures put into place.”

The measures will allow site teams to work on houses under construction, although tradespeople will still be unable to enter occupied properties.

John Booth, managing director, said: “We are very pleased to be able to resume work on our developments, and look forward to completing homes we know customers have been eager to move into.

Marketing suites remain closed, but the company says it has enhanced its website.
