Gail’s tasteful tea shop cafe of stylish upcycled decor makes a fitting place for her range of hand-blended teas and local made cakes. After her move into the centre of town, her new cafe shop is proving very popular as a go-to cuppa and cake experience, whilst also offering a range of tea-related gifts from vintage teapots to take-home loose leaf tea. Let’s ask Gail some questions.
5. If you had a time machine, where would you go, when and why?
“I would go back to the 1980s. My teenage party years. My going out years. Life was so much easier then. We had better music. Fun. I’m glad I was young, when I was young. I had a really good time. Whereas now, it’s so different. There’s pubs shut down. They don’t go out til midnight. I’m in bed well before midnight! I felt safe. I could go out with a fiver. There wasn’t the pressure of social media. There wasn’t the pressure of mobile phones. I think now there’s so much pressure for young people how they’ve got to look, how they’ve got to act.” Photo: By the window in Cup and Saucer, Clay Cross
6. What’s your most popular cuppa?
“Derbyshire tea. A good strong bold cup of tea. Like builder’s tea.” Photo: Through the window at Cup and Saucer, Clay Cross
