There have been no new Covid-19 deaths at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, according to this afternoon’s NHS England figures.

The statistics from NHS England do not include deaths in care homes and the community, they only record people who have died in hospital in the last 24 hour reporting period.

This the fifth consecutive day where no new coronavirus fatalities have been reported at the Royal.

In total, 128 people have sadly passed away with the disease at the Chesterfield hospital since the pandemic hit.

Across the England, 67 more people have been confirmed to have lost their lives to coronavirus in hospitals around the country.

Among the dead, there were two people aged between 20 and 39, while 44 people were over 80 years old.

The total number of people who have died from Covid-19 now stands at 27,926.
