Derbyshire couple hoping to raise funds for the Highfields School Association
Adrian Ward and Tilly Sanders of Church Street, Matlock, say they were inspired to help the association raise funds as the school continues to provide vital support for students through the lockdown period.
As parents of children at Highfields School, the couple have first hand experience of the kind of difference the school can make to a child’s development and wellbeing.

Hide AdTilly has spoken of the negative effects the lockdown is having on her children, saying she would not know what to do without the support she and her children have been receiving from the school’s pastoral team.
Tilly said: “Since the lockdown began, our daughter has been really struggling with missing friends, anxiety and worrying about the coronavirus. My husband and I are key workers so we have to leave the kids at home which makes them more nervous about the current situation.
“I decided to contact the school about the situation I was facing with my children. The pastoral team and my daughters head-of-year got in touch immediately and have supplied constant support ever since I reached out to them. I couldn’t be more grateful to them given the current circumstances.
“My husband and I have since decided to raise some much needed funds for the school so they can continue to provide the same support to families across the local region.”
