an artist from Belper is going back to his childhood for his latest exhibition.
Ivan Smith, of Bridge Street, has gathered together an army of hundreds of Action Man figures for his Con-flict: A State of Disharmony exhibition at the Derby Museum and Art Gallery.
The 45-year-old father-of-two, who had Action Man figures as a youngster, searched friends’ lofts, jumble sales, car boot sales and charity shops for the plastic dolls.
Now, he will exhibit them in a variety of pieces of work from Saturday, April 30, until Sunday, July 10.
The pieces include ones entitled Abu Grave One, and Abu Grave Two.
More than 300 figures have been used to create Ivan’s exhibition.
