Black ice caused two vehicles to collide with each other on the A6 through Ambergate this morning.

A woman in a Daihatsu Copen and a man driving a Mercedes Sprinter van collided at around 8.25am on the A6 between the village and Belper.
The woman had to be treated for whiplash, a police spokesperson said.

Both vehicles are currently awaiting recovery, but the road is open.

Police say the collision was likely caused by black ice and the force has warned drivers to drive carefully in this morning’s icy conditions.
