NINE talented artists braved unfavourable weather to take part in an annual art challenge at Heage Windmill.
The competition saw entrants produce a picture of the six-sailed tower mill on Chesterfield Road.
Alan Gifford, a volunteer at the mill, said: “They had just four hours. Well-wrapped and in waterproofs, they persisted with the challenge!”
The three winners in the adult category were Steve Allen, of Denby, Alan Potter, of Kimberley, and Les Mooney, of Walton.
Certificates were also given to Rob Bowns and Phil Smith, both of Nether Heage, and Carol Sellors, of Codnor.
The junior trophy was won by Erin Draper, of Balderton.
Mr Gifford thanked Albert Wilde Coaches, of Heage, which sponsored the event, and Vickie Newey, of Nether Heage, for the certificates.
