two Duffield firefighters are to pick up long service accolades at the Derbyshire Fire and Rescue annual awards ceremony.
John Foster and Kevin Ryan will be presented with medals commemorating their 20 years each of service at the awards bash tomorrow in Derby.
John joined the service on May 14, 1990, as a firefighter at Duffield. He was promoted to leading firefighter in 1998 and has been watch manager since 2009.
Kevin Ryan has been a firefighter at Duffield since May 1, 1990.
The Lord Lieutenant of Derbyshire, William Tucker, will present the medals. Sixteen other firefighters are also being honoured.
The chief fire officer and chief executive Sean Frayne said: “I am extremely proud of all those being honoured who have given many years of loyal public service to the communities we all serve.”
