BBC2 show star to cut ribbon on new shop

A contestant on BBC2s Great British Sewing Bee will open a new store on Bridge Street, Belper.

Mark Sanders, a historical costume maker who featured on the prime time programme, will cut the ribbon on Buttons and Bows Sewing Boutique on June 1.

The new venture is being opened by Donna Stanton - who will be selling fabrics and haberdashery and also running textile classes.

Mr Sanders was born in Holbrook and has lived in Belper all his life. He attended Belper School and is an HGV mechanic for his own company Alfreton cars and commercials. He became interested in sewing & textiles in 2010 when he and his wife , Donna started making costumes that they wear to Steampunk events.
