A HISTORIC bell has been stolen from the mill at Milford.
The theft was discovered on or before September 17.
It was made at Whitechapel Foundry in 1781 in London and these facts were cast into its surface.
A spokesman for the World Heritage Team said: “Obviously it is irreplaceable. The police have notified all scrap yards of the theft and they have been instructed to tell the police if anyone tries to ‘weigh it in’.”
Anyone with information is asked to inform the World Heritage Team on 01629 536831 or the police.
