A MAN was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation after a fire started in the cellar of a Belper house on Saturday night.
Crews from Belper and Duffield were called to the terraced house on Mill Lane at 10.55pm.
It is understood the fire started in a confined 5m by 10m cellar.
Two hose reel jets were used until crews called for further assistance from Ripley and one mainline was used. Crews from Crich also attended.
Four firefighters wearing breath apparatus damped the building down until 11.55pm and left the building to venitlate before leaving at 1.40pm.
