Belper supermarket to host community health and wellbeing day

Amber Valley Borough Council are teaming up with a Belper supermarket for a wellbeing event next month.

Take part in Nordic walking taster session as part of the health and wellbeing day at Strutt Street Co-operative on Friday, April 6.

The Co-operative, on Strutt Street, will host representatives from local health services on Friday, April 6, 9.30am to 3pm.

A council spokesman said: “Come along for your free body MOT and friendly, personal advice.

“Support is there to help you improve your lifestyle and wellbeing.”

Health professionals will be offering free checks on blood pressure, heart rate, body mass index and body fat.

At 10am, visitors can take part in a Nordic walking taster session, or pick up a selection of free leisure centre passes and activity vouchers.

Organisations expected to attend include Derbyshire Victim Support, Sight Support, Derbyshire Healthwatch, Citizens Advice, the Alzheimer’s Society and Stroke Association.
