SPEED bumps are to be installed on the Coppice car park in Belper.
The move comes after several complaints from residents living near the car park about anti-social behaviour involving cars.
A meeting of Belper Town Council heard from the town’s acting sergeant Chris Anthony. He said: “Speed bumps are being put in to stop nuisance vehicles going around the car parks.”
The meeting heard that the top end of the car park was used frequently by drivers doing ‘handbrake turns’.
Cllr Dave Fisher said one driver was spotted doing five handbrake turns in one go.
Cllr Joe Booth added: “The reason for the bumps is hopefully, they will act as a deterrent.”
