Accelerate your business

The Belper News is offering a substantial free advertising package to the town’s most dynamic fledgling businesses
after signing up to the Business Accelerators campaign.

The package of free advertising is part of a national campaign by the newspaper industry and industry chiefs aimed at helping new firms.

The initiative, backed by Dragons’ Den judge Deborah Meaden, is called Local Business Accelerators (LBA) and is being spearheaded by the voice of local media, the Newspaper Society.

As part of the Business Accelerators campaign, hundreds of local newspapers, including the Belper News, are joining forces to back local companies and their communities.

Since the launch, the Business Growth Fund (BGF), an independent business established to help the UK’s fast growing smaller and medium-sized businesses, has come forward to add a £10,000 cash sum to the prize package for the overall winner.

The winners of the Belper News competition will go forward into a regional contest and eventually there will be a national competition to find the country’s most
promising young businesses and help them ‘accelerate’ their success with top professional advice from business mentors, including input from business guru Deborah Meaden.

The lucky business to
eventually be picked from the hundreds of regional winners will get individual mentoring sessions from the LBA national ambassador Deborah, who will become a consultant and mentor to the firm for one year.

Local Business Accelerators is open to all businesses that are active in the local Belper community, which are between one and three years old and full of potential.

They may have a great idea or product, or even have found a new market.

They’re the kind of
businesses that will create new jobs and individually they will create pride in the community.

If you run such a business, or know anyone who does, and want the chance to receive invaluable business support and advertising space in the Belper News then visit for more information on the scheme and how to enter.
